Captain Susan Webber's double strike in the second half helped South Africa blank China 4-0 for a place in the women's hockey final of the Afro-Asian Games here on Tuesday.

Leading 1-0 at the half-time, the South Africans pumped in three goals in a space of 10 minutes to dashed the World Cup winners hopes, who had come to the tournament as one of the title contenders.

South Africa will meet the winners of the second semifinal between India and South Africa, which will start in a short while from now.

Susan slammed home in the 43rd and 53rd minutes after prolific scorer Pietie Coetzee's goal gave South Africa the lead in the third minute.

Kerry Bee scored a field goal in the 44th minute.

Earlier, in the battle between minnows, Kenya overcame Ghana while Kazakhstan beat Nigeria in the play off matches.

Kenya came up with a good display to down a spirited Ghana 2-1 at the Gochibowli stadium here scoring a goal in each side of the break. Kazakhstan had also a hard time prevailing over Nigeria 2-0 in the second match of the day.

The two winning teams will now play for 5-6 position while Ghana and Nigeria will battle it out for the last two slots.
