India set themselves up for the semifinal clash against mighty South Koreans in style hammering a hapless Kazakhstan 9-0 in the last league match of the women's hockey event of the Afro-Asian Games.
Needing only a draw to qualify for the semifinals, India left nothing to chance as they scored goals at will for their comprehensive win.
South Korea ended their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against world cup winners China earlier in the day.
After facing some challenge in the first half, during which India led 3-0, the home side set off celebrations in the stand with six goals in the second half to complete the rout.
Adline Kerketta (11th, 52nd and 61st) and Jyoti Sunita Kullu (32nd, 44th and 67th) scored thrice each while Sanggai Chanu also joined the score feast by scoring a brace (4th, 40th).
Surinder Kaur (62nd) scored the other one.
Earlier, South Africa maintained their winning streak, drubbing Ghana 6-0, while Lilian Kimeu scored twice as Kenya recorded their first win of the meet by beating Nigeria 2-1.
The win catapulted the South Africans to the top of the table with nine points, having already beaten India and Kazakhstan comprehensively in their earlier Pool A matches. They will play China in the second semifinals on Tuesday.
