SELANGOR MPPJ made history when they became the first ever club side to qualify for the Malaysia Cup final after drawing 1-1 with Perlis in the semi-final return leg match at Stadium Utama in Kangar last night.

Selangor MPPJ thus go through 4-2 on aggregate and will meet Sabah in the final on Oct 4.

Sabah also go through 4-2 on aggregate after defeating Perak 3-1 in the return-leg tie at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.

In hockey, our boys redeemed their pride when they beat China 3-2 to finish fifth in the Asia Cup tournament at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.

There was, however, no such joy in Aarhus, Denmark, when Wong Choong Hann and Mohd Roslin Hashim bowed out in the semi-finals of the Danish Open yesterday.
