Scotland's men finished their pool matches at hockey's European Nations Cup with a 3-1 win over Switzerland on Monday.
Kelburne's Jonathan Christie opened the scoring in the 16th minute but Philippe Bernhard converted a 25th-minute penalty corner to make the score level at half-time.

Eight minutes after the interval Christie's club-mate Mark Ralph restored the Scots' lead and a minute from time Western Wildcats' Graham Moodie made sure of victory.

The Scots will find out their opponents for the first round of classification when the England v Poland game is over.

Earlier in the day, Scotland's women slipped to an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Azerbaijan.

However, despite the unexpected loss, Scotland are assured a place in the play-offs for fifth to eighth place.

Difuza Kenzayeva opened the scoring in the 14th minute and Mutiavon Askarova doubled the lead in the 21st minute before Liana Niriyeva put the Scots 3-0 down at the break.

Bonagrass Grove's Louise Carroll converted a 53rd-minute penalty corner but it was nothing more than a consolation for the mis-firing Scots.

h
two points arise from this.
1) Rhona Simpson is so influential and good that the team can't manage without her (and also TRacey) - is this true?
2) presumably the team still contained those who spent a winter in australia, (and those who play full time), with almost full time coaching.
If 1 and 2 are true than my real fear is that Rhona will be the only GB Scot, and she didn't need an academy to get so many caps..
Trish Heberle will have noticed i'm sure.
pull your socks up and win the next two...!!
