Jorge Lombi, Sohail Abbas, S. Kuhan, Song Sueng Tae. Yes, all of them could well be seen in action right here, as the hockey fever continued to grip the country.
Star Pakistani drag-flicker Abbas too might make an appearance during the Afro-Asian Games; in fact, he might come over much before that if the efforts of the Pakistan hockey body fructify.
In the Afro-Asian, Malaysia and South Korea will also represent Asia while Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe will show up for Africa.
Interestinlgy, Argentina has apparently expressed its keenness to play matches against India. Its wish might be fulfilled if the IHF?s plan to host a six-nation tournament in November-December works out. It would obviously give the Indian team a better chance to prepare for the Olympics qualifers in March and indeed build some more support for itself within the country.
Apart from India and Argentina, two teams from Europe and two from Asia are likely to be invited.
In December, India would also be hosting the 5th women?s Asia Cup in New Delhi. China, South Korea, Japan and Malaysiare the other teams.
