The UAE Hockey Committee (UAEHC) will be marking the Pakistan and Indian Independence Days with a couple of hockey games at the Dubal ground today and tomorrow.

Today-s Pakistan Day game will be played between Pakistan Select XI - led by Ahmed Al Sayegh - and Dubal - skippered by Gohar Jamil.

In tomorrow-s match, the Indian team will be led by Lacnor player Javis Ahmed. J.K. Verma, counsellor at the Indian Embassy, will be the chief guest.

Both the games will be supervised by Ejaz Ahmed and Raza Abidi. The two exhibition games are being sponsored by Gulf Inn Hotel, Dubai.

Meanwhile, the UAEHC will be organising a Super League starting from September.

So far, eight teams have confirmed their participation for the league. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals. For the first time, there will be a total cash fund of Dhs 10,000 for the top three teams at the end of the league.

The winners will get Dhs 5,000, while the runners-up will be richer by Dhs 3,000. All matches will be played at the CMC Stadium in Dubai.
