The Emarat-FP7 hockey team will be looking forward to maintaining their winning record as they embark on a tour of Turkey on August 14.
The team, led by goalkeeper Tauqeer Hussain, is all geared up for continuing their successful runs during previous tours to places like Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Kenya and Oman.
"This time it is going to be tough and different," said manager Ali Khan as the team met for a practice session yesterday evening at the Al Jazira Park in Sharjah.
"We've been having some pretty serious practice sessions for the past few weeks as we are keen on putting up a good show in Istanbul," Khan added.
The team has all reason to be wary as Turkey is the latest member of the FIH. The Emarat-FP7 team will play four games in Istanbul during their stay there. "What we are keen to do is to have a game against the national team," Khan stated.
The request has gone through and the final answer will be known in a couple of days' time. "If the tour to Sri Lanka was tough, this one will be even more taxing." The team will return on August 22.
