Dubai: By A Correspondent

A 21-member delegation representing the UAE Hockey Committee (UAEHC) will leave from Dubai for an eight-game friendly hockey tour of Germany today.

The side from UAE will open their tour with a game against Tus Obermenting in Munich on Sunday.

Ahmed Al Sayegh will be leading the team, while experienced players like Arshad Nazir, Mohammed Arif, Irfan Shafqat, Safdar Cheema, Yousuf Sultan are also part of the squad.

The tour has been put on track by Yousuf Sultan, former player from Al Nasr Club, while Raza Abidi will act as the co-ordinator for the UAEHC.

Colonel Saeed Al Suwaidi of the committee stated that the team's tour to Germany has the blessings of Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum and Ismail Ali Al Banna, president of the UAEHC.

Viqar Ahmed will be the manager of the squad.

The team's tour to Germany is sponsored by MeBank with co-sponsorship from National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Standard Chartered Bank, International Printing Press, Quick Photo, Multi Links, MashreqBank and Sheraton Hotel and Tower.

Programme: May 11: vs Tus Obermenting, Munich; May 13: vs ATV Leiptig; May 14: vs Leiptiger St; May 15: vs BM Berlin; May 16: vs Tehlendortar Wespen, Berlin; May 18: vs UHC Hamburg; May 20: vs Klipper Hamburg; May 22: vs Club tur Vahr Bremen.

Bujam Bijo (goalkeeper), Arshad Nazir, Mohammed Arif, Qadeer Hussain, Amir Sulaiman, Irfan Shafqat, Yousuf Sultan, Mohammed Hassan, Owais-ur-Rehman, Chaudhry Naeem Ahmed, Raza Abidi, Nasir Khan, Sohail Rafiq Butt, Ghous Rasool, Abdul Waheed, Bilal Nazir, Mohammed Zulfiqar, Viqar Ahmed (manager), Haider Parad (asst. manager).
