The Executive Board of the European Hockey Federation held its second meeting of 2003 on the 3rd and 4th May in Dublin, Ireland.
The President and Executive members during their stay in Dublin had the opportunity of meeting with John Smyth and John Dennis, President and Chairman of the Irish Hockey Association, together with Ruth Potterton and Ben Glascott President's of the Leinster Branch (Dublin Region).
Paul Milton, General Manager Europe Musco Lighting, also held a meeting with the Executive Board.
The Executive Board noted with pleasure that Alain Danet has received the title:
"Commandeur de la Légion d'Honneur"
The main points from the meeting were: -
ˇ Receive a report from Leandro Negre EHF representative on the FIH Executive Board following the recent FIH Executive Board meeting held in Athens, Greece.
ˇ Receive reports from Appointments, Competitions, Development, Finance, Indoor and Marketing Committees.
ˇ Approve the minor adjustments to the match schedule for the AstroTurf Nations Cups, Barcelona, 2003, following a request received from Real Federacion Espanola de Hockey and the host TV broadcaster.
ˇ Approve the following venue for the Indoor Junior Women's Championships 2005.
Prague, Czech Republic, 28th -30th January 2005.
ˇ Reschedule the Indoor Calendar as follows:
2004 Women's Nations Championships & Junior Men's Nations Championships
2005 Junior Women's Nations Championships
2006 Women's and Men's Nations Championships
2007 Women's and Men's Junior Nations Championships
Qualification for the 2nd Indoor World Cup 2007 will be from the Nations Championships in 2006.
ˇ Following the Strategic Reviews Finance, Competitions & Development the following proposal has been approved: -
EHF will make a financial contribution of ?2,000 to Clubs hosting the Indoor and Outdoor Club Competitions "B" & "C" Divisions only
This financial contribution (to be reviewed annually) is to assist towards the cost of the travel and accommodation for the Tournament Director, Umpires Manager and two Neutral Umpires.
ˇ It was noted that the first EHF Development Coaching seminar was held in Berlin, Germany on the weekend 18th - 21st April. 18 Coaches attended. The course Conductor was Rudiger Haenel.
ˇ Indoor & Outdoor Club Tournaments.
It was noted with pleasure that there had been no withdrawals from either the Indoor Club Championships or the Cup Winners Cup. A total of 80 clubs participated in both events.
