Congress in January
The Congress of the AHF will be held at Kuala Lumpur (Mal) on 15th January 2001.
2006 Asian at Quatar
The 2002 Asian Games will be held at Pusan, Korea, from 29 September to 15 October. The 2006 Games have been awarded to Quatar.
Olympic Solidarity
An Olympic Solidarity course will be held in Singapore from 17-23 June, 2001 as part of the AHF Development Plan.
Year of the Youth
A great deal of enthusiasm and interest has been created amongst the AHF affiliates to celebrate the Year of the Youth festival on a year-long basis in Asia.
Official website
The official AHF website, www.hockeyasia.com, is becoming a major hockey web portal for the region. It is hoped that it will be the on-line forum for Asian hockey news and views.
The website is averaging 100,000 page views per month and this figure is expected to grow as it reaches its first anniversary in February 2001. Although it enjoys a strong user base in hockey-mad India, Pakistan and Malaysia, the site commands a substantial following in Europe.
The site was launched during the 10th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup at Kuala Lumpur in 2000 and immediately developed a following, especially for its 'Matchtracker' real-time results.
Hockeyasia.com received the most hits during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games when it provided coverage of both the men's and women's events.
