KARACHI, April 19: National Selector Saleem Nazim will participate in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Development Workshop to be held in Athens, Greece next month.
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has nominated Saleem as its representative for the workshop that will be supervised by FIH Development and Coaching Committee, Chairman Theo Ykema of Holland.
Saleem Nazim, a former international hockey player, is presently the member of National Selection Committee.
"He (Saleem) has a vast experience of coaching and development which is the reason why we have nominated him for the workshop," said PHF Secretary, Brig. Musarratullah Khan.
For the first time an international hockey development workshop, run by (FIH) is to be held in Athens, May this year.
The workshop continues the series of worldwide development sessions held in Egypt, Netherlands, Argentina and Singapore.
The course is for people involved in hockey development, planning and implementation in national associations of Africa, Western Asia, Southern and Eastern Europe.
The workshop aims to capitalize on the knowledge that each individual developer holds, and to provide a forum to exchange this knowledge and learn from each other.
The course will cover areas such as analyzing opportunities and obstacles for hockey development and planning for sustainable hockey development.
The intensive workshop will also include case study and small group work plus presentations by experts in hockey development. The workshop will focus strongly on sharing international knowledge ideas and experience
