Qualification for Pan Am Games
8 teams (men and women) will participate in the 2003 Pan American Games this summer in Santo Domingo.

MEN
1) Host country: Dominican Republic
2) Defending Champion: Canada
3) Winner and 2nd placed country at 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games:
- Trinidad & Tobago
- Barbados
4) Winner of 5th South America Championship: Argentina
5) Remaining places, up to 8, filled based on standings at 1st Americas Cup

WOMEN
1) Host country: Dominican Republic
2) Defending Champion: Argentina
3) Winner and 2nd placed country at 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games:
- Trinidad & Tobago
- Jamaica
4) Second of 5th South America Championship: Chile
5) Remaining places, up to 8, filled based on standings at 1st Americas Cup

The Canadian Women finished 3rd at the Pan American Cup and will qualify for the 2003 Pan Am Games with USA (2nd) and Uruguay (4th).
