Canada has recorded its second win of the (Men?s) Indoor Hockey World Cup, beating New Zealand 7-2 in Leipzig today.

The Canadians led 4-1 at half time and ran out comfortable winners, with a hat-trick of penalty corner goals from Wayne Fernandez and two field goals from Ken Pereira.

In other matches on day two, France beat South Africa 9-4 and Australia recorded a 4-0 win over the USA.

French player Frederic Soyez scored four goals, while Mattieu Durchon netted three.

Australia?s win over the USA is their second in as many games, having beaten France yesterday.

Germany had their sternest test so far but still ran out comfortable winners against the Czech Republic 6-3

In women?s matches the Czech Republic Ladies were more successful and won a hard fought match against Australia 3-2. The Czechs were 3-1 ahead with 15 minutes to play and the Australians rallied after Rhylee Swain pulled a goal back from a penalty corner. Australia missed a penalty in the in the final few seconds which could have leveled the match.

Also in Pool A the Austrians defeated Trinidad & Tobago 7 ? 2.

The Netherlands moved to the top of Pool B with their 3rd win in as many games, beating South Africa 7 ? 0. Russia won their first match against Mexico 5 ? 1
