THERE was no change at the head of all three divisions of the men’s National League with Reading, the champions, Old Loughtonians and Bowdon all maintaining pole position in their respective divisions. Only Old Loughtonians, the firstdivision leaders, dropped points after letting slip a 4-2 lead away to Beeston before being held to a 4-4 draw.
But there was nothing for Stuart Boddy, of Doncaster, to celebrate, despite scoring all four goals for his team, when they slumped to a 5-4 defeat at the hands of Teddington to increase their premiership woes.

In the women’s league, Harleston Magpies clung on to top spot ahead of Loughborough Students on goal difference — despite losing 1-0 at home to Hounslow and Ealing in the first division — and Birmingham University eased six points clear in the second division after a 3-0 win against Bradford.

The absence of the England internationals in the third round of the women’s EHA Cup devalued some ties. Golden goals sealed victory in the all-premiership clashes with Chloe Rogers striking for Chelmsford away to Clifton, and Caroline Jones on target for Olton against Leicester.

Old Loughts dominated the first half, but in the end they were very lucky to get a point. Beeston tore them apart in the second half.

Griffiths, one of Beeston's young forwards, looks in lethal form at the moment. He made the Loughts defence look very ordinary at times.

loughborough canterbury result
Canterburys 4-2 defeat of Loughborough I feel was news well worth reading about, and yet didnt even get a mention, Reading the team at the top dominated the summary. The Premiership has three mini leagues this season with the scrap between Loughborough, Guildford, Canterbury for the fourth playoff place, this is interesting. That was a terrible and dull article!
