On October 26th, with a big event and a lot of hockey from the future stars, Brazil celebrated World Youth Hockey Day in Rio de Janeiro.
The celebration lasted a full day, with teams from two schools, OLM and Logosofico, and a traditional club, America. With high quality male and female hockey and the presence of parents, relatives and guests, the girls from Logosófico and OLM opened the day with a game of high quality passes
and hability with the ball from both teams. The girls once again showed they can build a really good National Team for the future.
But the big surprise was still to come. For the boys, there was a tournament with all the young teams that were there. OLM once again played strongly and had good matches against America amd Logosofico, which also played well. But the most surprising team was, undoubtly, America, where hockey has been
taught for only a few months. With the additions of Paulo and Thiago, who already play for the men's team of Germania, America won all the games,
being crowned champion of the mini-tournament. The future is promising for the players of the traditional club. At last, there was a men's game, with players from Germania and some boys from the schools.
At the end, there was a big barbecue with the players, hosts, guests and the coaches Leo and Eduardo, who, with a big smile on their faces, showed what
the event was all about: Celebrate the kids and the future of Brazilian Hockey.
