Slough, the defending League Champions, moved to the top of the women's Premier following their 1-0 win away at Canterbury on Saturday and a comprehensive 6-0 defeat of Trojans yesterday.
Their new signing, Louise Bevan, claimed a hat-trick, while two goals were scored by another newcomer, Vicky Goodacre, from Loughborough Students. Fiona Greenham completed the scoring. Ipswich were the only other side to collect maximum points, following up their 2-1 home win against Clifton on Saturday with a 2-1 victory against Fyffes Leicester away at Loughborough.
Sutton Coldfield won their first points of the season in a 4-0 win against Hightown thanks to three goals from Jane Sixsmith.
Surbiton, Cannock and Reading are the only teams on maximum points in the men's Premier after just two games. Surbiton overcame a three-goal deficit to win 5-3 away to Loughborough Students, with Bill Waugh and Stefan Saliger both scoring twice. Earlier, Scotland's David Ralph had converted two penalty strokes and Chris Graham had scored his first goal for the Students, who went into the interval leading 3-1. They ran out of steam after the break to allow Surbiton to take over.
In a downpour at Bisham Abbey, Reading and Guildford produced a highly competitive game, with Reading, who showed slightly more attacking flair, edging home 2-1 winners. After Ken Robinson had given Reading a ninth-minute goal, the Surrey club were quickly on terms through Jason Collins before a fine run along the Guildford back-line by Jonty Clarke set up the winner for Andrew Todd to take with aplomb.
