* Organization: 2 teams compete 4v2 against each other in adjacent squares. Team in possession (4players) will obtain 1 point for every 3 successful passes(stick to stick passing...errors or lack of control on reception do not count)

* Substitutions: Each unit of 8 play for 2-4 minutes continuously. (A unit is represented by 4 attackers in one square, 2 defenders defending that square, plus 2 additional players in an adjacent square awaiting a pass from their 2 teammates)

* Size of area: 40 yards in length, 30 yards wide (divide this area in half to create your 2 squares) Adjust size of area based upon the abilities of your team.

*Skills emphasized: Off the ball movement/ creating space, possession hockey- 1st attacker(player in possession) & 2nd attacker(player in support that is 1 pass away),deceptive passing, verbal & non verbal communication, 1st touch reception or as I like to say 1st touch preparation....which translates to thinking 1 step ahead...knowing your next option before your in possesion , variety of passing combinations...look for the split to penetrate the defense and get in behind them, defensive organization when in a numerical inferior situation(control time, space and prevent the most dangerous pass...through the middle, pressure /cover defense.

Set up: Team "A" initiates the game in one of the squares playing 4v2 against "B" Space in confined/restricted to this square. 3 consecutive passes= 1 point Team "B" defends this area trying to dispossess the
ball.

If & when Team "B" forces a turnover they immediately look to transition or counter attack to the adjacent square to their awaiting 2 teammates.

Once the ball has been switched the 2 defenders from Team "B" in the 1st square join their 2 teammates to make 4 attackers (they begin immediately to pass the ball...every 3 passes=1point).

Team "A" must send 2 players over to defend, while keeping 2 in the initial square. The 2 players that remained behind in the initial square await for the return of the ball on another change of possession.

*Bonus- If a particuliar team only allowed the ball to be switched 1 time or less in a given time period, they would receive a 5 point bonus!

Objectives:
1. Support ball carrier with diamond support concept. This will allow for multiple passing options.
2. Retain possession with pass or dribble concept...no standing in space or behind the line of the defender (dead space).
3. Be creative..body fakes, stick fakes... deceptive movements will surely create a passing option.

**Remember to play percentage hockey. which means don't force something that is not there. Make the easy play and play simple hockey making the ball do all the work. If you approach this game with that in mind, accompanied by solid fundamentals....you to will keep receiving bonuses!

Your players will love this one....good luck!
