ORGANIZATION:
5v4(each team plays a 15 minute half with 5 then with 4)

Team(A) with 4 players(man down) receives 2 points when they score.

Team(B) with 5 players receives 1 point when they
score.

Total amount of time: 30 minutes

SUBSTITUTIONS: rolling subs

SIZE OF AREA: 50 yards in length, 40 yards wide

SKILLS EMPHASIZED:
Off the ball movement, creating a numerical advantage on
offense & defense(double team),transitional play and attacking the baseline.

SET UP:
Team "A"plays first with 4 players which must remain in their respective area/zone. 2 on one side of the 25 yd line, 2 on the other, they may not switch.

The game is directional(goals w/GK at either end) so team "A" with 4 players will attack a specific goal.

Team "B" plays with the extra player who can switch and rotate with her teammates. Team "B" may only have 3 on any one side at any given time or
they lose possession. All other rules apply.

OBJECTIVE: On paper we recognize the advantage....but what do you as a player, a unit, a team do with it is the question?
Team"B"

1.Offensively recognize and make decisions quickly- create the 2v1

2. Stretch the "D" with effective cutting to the baseline...get in behind!

3. Use the vulnerable area with the "D"...the inside /outside pass to disorganize.

4. Be direct on attack by passing quickly to take advantage of the numbers around the ball. Reduce the amount of dribble...transition quickly!

5. Team "B" defensively needs to organize quickly and look for the double team(1v2) on the sideline or pressing zones. Communication, support & balance are crucial....a numerical inferior team should never score!

Team "A"
1. Play zone defensively & don't be pulled out. Man to man will create gaps for team "A".
2. Possess ball on transition and interchange/scissor to disorganize.
3.Elimination skills are important but not at the risk of turning the ball over.
4. Move on angles, change pace and be deceptive w/ball....do not allow for the double team.

GOALIE EMPHASIS: clears should be intended passes. Quarterback your "D"...gives commanding directives.
