“Being part of making hockey grow ..."
Just a comment on Oneto stating to SI that “Being part of making hockey grow in Argentina is great, and I want to make it grow, grow and grow as much as I can”. This statement is not just for the media. When I was in Quilmes last year, one could REALLY see the impact the national team players had on the local youth. They interact with these kids with a lot of enthusiasm and I think it is really working to make hockey grow in Argentina.

She is one of the best players of all times, she can really move that ball, and making other teams go crazy about her attacks!!! I admire her, hope will enjoy her play for a lot of time!!! AGUANTE ARGENTINA. Can you belive she has scored abour 30 goals in the first half of the year for her team in Buenos Aires, and she is looking for much more!!!! Hola Vanina:
Soy una fanática de ustedes, sobre todo de vos, de Aymar, y de las arqueras.
Mi sueño es ser una Leona. tengo 11 años y el año que viene paso a 7 ma división. Me falta mucho para llegar a ser una Leona, pero lo voy a lograr.
Las felicito por haber ganado , yo, me quedé mirando el partido (me comía las uñas).
Juego hockey en el lub Independiente de Neuquén (cap.). Ojalá las pueda conocer en persona.
Me darías algunos consejos para ser mejor Leona y alguna dirección de e-mail o postal?

Yes i def. agree that is it awesome that the comment about "Being part of making hockey grow in Argentina is great, and I want to make it grow, grow and grow as much as I can,” she told SI. Thats so great, I wish here in America there were more clinics for youth to get involved in. I personally know that it would help a lot and pump up a lot of youth to get involve if a IFH Hero was getting involved to help hockey grow. I this it is awesome Vania is doing that. Come to America any time and spread you experience!!!

She has been to the US with her coach and she IS GREAT! She was a part of a coaching clinic with East Coast Field Hockey. Thank you so much for your promotion of the sport, Vanina. We will look for you to come and be a part of more clinics in the US.

Grande !! igual que todas las leonas , que gracias a ella , el hockey argentino se reconoce en el mundo entero.
Tuve la oprtunidad de con Vanina en el sur de la Patagonia , Rada Tilly , donde fueron a jugar un seven playero con Rimoldi . Tuvieron toda la onda , y nos divertimos mucho con ellas. Espero que se repita!!!

Vanina Oneto 5/3-5/4 2003 East Coast Coaching Clinic
I would like say how honored I was to have met Vanina at a recent coaching clinic at Swarthmore College near Philadeolphia,PA. She is truly talented in all aspects of the game and I have learned so much from her. I currently coach in upstate NY, and am looking foward to sharing the skills that I learned with my team. Vanina
Vanina was awesome and inspired the girls and the parents at the East Coast Clinic she did with Coach Mendoza in Hershey for East Coast Field Hockey spring of 2003. The girls left inspired, and excited to try all she taught them,and with a new wonderful hero! The girls can't wait until next spring and hope that Vanina returns with Coach Mendoza and her new little future hockey superstar! THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING OUR YOUTH HERE IN THE U.S. TOO!

I recently discovered Vanina in an issue of Sports Illustrated. I am a distant relative of hers in California. I knew that I had relatives in Argentina, but did not know they were so famous. Way to go Vanina!
