An enlarged field of 16 nations will vie for top honours in the 10th Men’s Hockey World Cup. These nations are divided into two pools of eight teams each as follows:-
Pool A: Argentina, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Spain
Pool B: Australia, Cuba, England, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Poland
The World Cup starts on February 24 when debutant Cuba takes on Olympic runners up South Korea in a curtain raiser. The final will be held on March 9. There will be a total of 72 matches including 56 pool matches, 2 semi finals, one final, 6 cross over play offs and 7 classification matches.
