Georgetown Cricket Club scored a 2-1 win over defending champions Everest Hikers in the final on Sunday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, to lift the GT&T Indoor tournament title.

Alan Fernandes and Devin Hooper found the net for the 2001 Pan American Club silver medalists in the first half while Devin Munroe scored the two-time champions' lone goal in the second session. In the ladies final, Everest Thugs edged Police Sports Club 1-0 to take
top honours. Maria Atkinson scored the winning goal, three and one half minutes into the second half.

GCC's Dwayne Scott was voted the `Most Valuable Player' among the men, while Thugs' Wendy Boodhoo won the ladies equivalent. In the men's final, Alan Fernandes opened GCC's account with a perfectly placed shot from the right wing after receiving a short pass from centre court, while Hooper's goal came from a short corner. Munroe on the other hand, dribbled his opponents mid-field and defence before slipping the ball past GCC's custodian at first post.

When the two teams met in the preliminary round, Hikers came out on top by a 2-1 margin through goals from Brian Asregado and Jermaine Lewis, while Alan Fernandes scored GCC's lone goal.

Everest Hikers defeated Vikings/Dragons combined 2-1 in the semifinals while GCC also scored a 2-1 victory over Old Fort in the other game. Marc King and Asregado were Hikers semifinal goal scorers while Robert Lewis found the net for Vikings/Dragons.

In the other semi-final, Alan Fernandes and Phillip Fernandes were GCC's goal scorers while Aderemi Simon netted for Old Fort. In other men's preliminary results, Old Fort beat Hikers 1-0 and Police 5-1, while GCC defeated Vikings/Dragons 5-2. The latter team also suffered a 0-4 defeat at the hands of Hikers.

The presentation of prizes to the winners and runners-up as well as the MVP's, were done by GT&T's representatives Ivor Thompson and Deborah Lewis

Re: Alan
As there's not much chance of us getting on this site, here's the up-date on "Swallows".
We have lost one of our best players for 8 mths due to a torn ACL, which occured in Barbados. Sam will have it repaired in early Jan, I'll be assisting in the operation! We know how to look after each other, half the team are nurses.
We are currently leading the Women's League here in the A and B divisions. If we can maintain that, we'll be through for next years Pan Am CC'S.
Fighting for Astro much like yourselves, and are experiencing similar problems. Hows that going for you guys?
There was mention of GCC in our papers as an example of what can be achieved!
Our heros! But we still want astro.
Bye for now, Swallows.
