From Sardar Khan
The PHF secretary Brig. Mussarratullah Khan yesterday confirmed to sportsmasala.com that the organizers in UAE are constantly in touch with PHF in order to have a series or event featuring both Pakistan and Indian hockey team. While talking from Lahore on phone, he expected the outcome of efforts within this month.

When pressed Mussarrat did admit that one Mr. Zahid Noorani from CBFS was in touch with PHF and according to Mr. Noorani the organizers had moved a summary to the Ministry of Defense of UAE Governement who he said was the incharge ministry to accord permissions for such events.

According to Mussarrat, Noorani informed him that since the turf at Dubai stadium was worn out and not fit for International events, they were about to call for quotations for re-laying the new turf. Besides the quotations are also being invited to install floodlights at the stadium and plans were afoot to enhance the crowd capacity.

Brig. Mussarrat further said that we have indicated our availability for the event any time in Apri/May which would give sufficient time to the organizers to get the required work completed. Mussarrat however denied any discussion yet having taken place as to what financial package was offered to PHF or the Indian hockey federation. It would be decided later when the Ministry of Defence accords permission later this month, Mussarrat concluded.
