KARACHI: Karachi thrashed Mirpurkhas 5-0 on the inaugural day of Defence Day Inter-Divisional Women Hockey Tournament at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium here on Saturday. Left-in Irum netted thrice while centre forward Anila scored the other two goals. Karachi led 1-0 at breather. Five divisional teams from all over the province are taking part in the six-day event which conclude on September 6. In the meantime Sindh Women Hockey Association (SWHA) is organizing an umpires clinic at HCP from Monday. Olympic umpires Shams-uz-Zaman, Dr Khalil Ahmed, Rashid Ali Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf will conduct the clinic.
