Hockey Results
Patrick does a tremendous job accumulating results.
What we need now is for someone to computerise them so these results can be provided as information to host broadcasters.
Questions always arise as to how many times teams have played against each other; most goals scorerd in matches between two countries etc.

Keep up the great work Patrick.

STATISTICS
Patrick,

Excellent!

Now just like all other major sports, Hockey too shall have statistics.

Cricket has detailed (mundane?) statistics, such as the number of times a batsman got out for duck.

World series baseball has averages for everything.

Football has die hard fans who can recall the number of time the "Black Pearl" kicked in goal using his left foot!

And the amazing thing is, that die-hard fans of these sports can recite the stats, win money on bets and argue till the cows come home re subjects such as "Babe Ruth must have been a alien"

That is what makes a sport great, sell-able and popular.

Patrick keep up the good work. Just enhance your stats such as, number of shots on goal, "lead-assist" (for the player who assist the scorer most in netting the goal). There, I have just coined a new hockey term! (Lead Assist)

If you can augment the score with amusing info then the legend of Hockey shall grow!

You shall be the pioneer.

Hockey needs it, the most ancient of field games is now languishing. Lets revive it.

Planetfieldhockey.com has the best chances of being quoted as the "Reviver" of the sport!

Origins of Hockey
Patrick,
Can you please enlighten me as to the origins of this game.Which country was it that first encouraged it in their backyard - schools, universities, army playing fields, etc.It would have to been a colonial country of the British Empire. The history of this wonderful game is worth writing about.
My email is:watqual@bigpond.com.au
Thanks for whatever info you can give me.
