The Jillaroos depart early Friday morning on their Junior World Cup campaign, beginning with lead-up matches in New Zealand before heading to Chile.

After a successful tour of China, and a training camp in Perth, Jillaroos coach Des King believes the team is well prepared for the tournament.

"We made some good progress on the China tour with playing structures and combinations. I was really happy with the tour and what we achieved," he said.

"During our camp in Perth we did a fair bit of work on set plays and adaptability of structure and the girls are ready to go."

The Jillaroos will play three games in New Zealand before heading to Santiago, Chile, for the World Cup which begins on 14 September. However, an injury to Sam Gayle has meant a late change to the team.

"Sam Gayle copped a whack on the thumb. It was operated on last night and she has had pins put in it. Emma Patterson has come into the side as a straight swap."

Visit the Hockey Australia website throughout the campaign for further information on the Jillaroos as they look to go one step further than the Burras and win gold.
