Addressing at the signing ceremony, Kirmani said the PHF was generating interest among the youngsters and the country would be able to produce good players at the school, college and districts levels. He said the Super Hockey League would be held on annual basis and become a regular feature in the PHF calendar. Tariq said from November this year the national federation was introducing a new tournament. ?This tournament will be played on district basis in all the four provinces of the country and it will continue for two to three months.?
The PHF president said the federation would neither encourage the departments nor discourage them in the domestic hockey circuit. ?But our main emphasis will be on district and provincial hockey.? He said the Super Hockey League was organised for the first time in Pakistan and besides PSO, there were some other co-sponsors also. Kirmani said the matches of the Super League would be shown live on PTV and Ten Sports.
