Khawaja Muhammad Awais, a former Pakistan hockey international player, has been inducted in the elite panel of the coaches by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
Awais was granted ?FIH Accreditation? on the basis of his presentation ?The wisdom of counter-attacking? and a practical on ?Modified games? during the FIH high performance coaching course held in Lahore last year and after judging his contributions in the preliminary courses conducted by the FIH master coaches. His name was recommended by the course conductors and nominated by the FIH DCC working group coaching.
Meanwhile, both the FIH and the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) have felicitated Awais on his appointment in the elite panel. Awais represented Pakistan in several tournaments both at home and abroad during a career from 1980 to 1983.Currently he is the coach of the Pakistan women?s hockey team. He has also conducted several coaching clinics as a part of the PHF development plans.
