England's women fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands, ranked world number one, at the European Nations Cup.
Only heroics from Carolyn Reid in goal saved England from a heavier loss as the Dutch eased into the final and secured their World Cup berth.

They went ahead on six minutes through a Sylvia Karres field goal. Naomi Van As fired home another on 46 minutes.

In other games, Ireland beat Scotland 3-1, Germany downed Spain 2-1, and Ukraine saw off France 2-1.

England will now face Spain in the bronze medal play-off match.
