England began their European Nations Championships campaign with an impressive 4-0 victory over Ukraine.
Captain Kate Walsh scored twice, opening her own and England's account from a ninth-minute penalty corner.

Tina Cullen made it 2-0 after 20 minutes, before Lucilla Wright and then Walsh again, from a set-piece just before half-time, settled the tie.

"I'm satisfied we did the job early and felt we were never under any pressure," said coach Danny Kerry.

Scotland, who are in England's group, were beaten 5-0 by Olympic gold medallists Germany.

A top-five finish for either England or Scotland would guarantee them a place in the forthcoming World Cup.
