Champions Trophy holders Spain beat India in the first game of Pool A in the Rabo Bank Trophy eight-nation hockey at the Wagenar Stadium in Amstelveen on Sunday.

Pol Amat, who made his international debut for Spain in the match, scored the sole goal in the 25th minute, to give Spain three points.

In the Pool B match, South Korea thrashed England 5-1.

Jang Jong Hyun dominated the match with two goals (in 13th and 51st minutes) while Seo Jong Ho (33rd), Kang Seong Jung (35th) and Lee Sung Min (66th) added to Korea's tally.

Ben Hawes converted a penalty stroke for England (22nd min).

India will next face The Netherlands on Tuesday.
