England's women start their European Nations Championships campaign against the Ukraine in Dublin on Sunday aiming to secure a World Cup qualifying spot.
A top-five finish would guarantee them a place in that competition, with coach Danny Kerry optimistic of success in his first major tournament in charge.
"We have to qualify for the World Cup qualifier - that is absolutely priority number one," Kerry said.
"Ukraine are quite a tough side and are dangerous on the counter-attack."
England expect to have forward Alex Danson available after a glandular problem, while the Ukraine have Tatyana Kobzenko - "one of the best players in the world" according to Kerry.
England also have Scotland and Olympic gold medallists Germany in their group but will be expected to progress to the knock-out stage.
