HOCKEYROOS coach Frank Murray says his team has much to do after it snatched a last minute 3-2 win over Korea in the first match of a six-game series last night.
The Hockeyroos surrendered a two-goal lead early in the second half but won with just 20 seconds remaining through Angie Skirvings low, clean penalty corner shot, from an attack from Wendy Alcorn and captain Nikki Hudson.
Murray said Korea had been allowed to dictate the way the majority of the match was played.
“After the first 20 minutes for some reason we got a bit soft and they were able to clog up the middle of the field for the rest of the game,” he said.
“It was good to come away with a win but there was a lot we were disappointed with. The girls were unhappy too the way they played.
“Its a new team, we have some young players in this series but there is plenty to work on.”
Australia had started well on a wet, chilly night but was pegged back and well contained by Korea until the last moment.
