Kenya: Soldiers And Telkom Teams to Represent Kenya in Morocco Ties

The Africa hockey club championships will be held in Morocco from November 12 to 19.

Armed Forces and Telkom men and women's clubs will represent Kenya after winning last year's league.


Kenya Hockey Union secretary Peter Kiruma said the clubs would be given a month's deadline to confirm participation.

Meanwhile, Kenya Police sailed to the semifinals of the Tanga Region Hockey Association's invitational Phonex Trophy being held at Popatlal School, Tanga.


The policemen were placed in pool "C"alongside Annadil Burhan and Kentucky. Pool "A" has Dar Institute, Moshi Khalsa and Al Hilal. Mombasa Mvita, the other Kenyan team in the tournament are in pool "B" with Tanzania Prisons and Zanzibar Club.

In their first match, Kenya Police beat Annadil Burhan 6-0. James Munyi scored two goals while Kevin Otieno, Vincent Otieno, Benson Soimo and Ken Osikuku also scored.
