The AIS team has been announced for the Asian tour to Korea and Japan. For many, the tour will be their chance to impress and push for national selection leading into the Champions Trophy in India, as well as the Commonwealth Games and World Cup next year.

Seoul, Korea is the first stop for the team, with a five-game series against the national side followed by another five-game series against Japan, in Japan.

"The tour is designed to give the players some international experience," National Men's Junior Coach, Mark Hager, said.

"It will be part of the learning curve for these younger guys to help them make the next step and get selection in the national side. We are looking at reviewing the squads after the Kookaburras European tour and this AIS tour leading into the Champions Trophy at the end of the year and the Commonwealth Games and World Cup later."

The AIS Asian tour runs from 12 September to 1 October.

AIS Team:
Ben Bishop (WA), Darren Booth (NSW), Geoff Boyce (WA), Steven Boyce (WA), Kiel Brown (QLD), Nathan Burgers (QLD), Tom Cleghorn (SA), Russell Ford (VIC), David Guest (TAS), Josh Hawes (ACT), David Hennessey (NT), Eli Matheson (NSW), Daniel McPherson (NSW), Matt Naylor (NSW), Seyi Onitiri (ACT), Marcus Richardson (TAS), Greg Reece (SA), Andrew Smith (VIC)
