Two new caps have been named in the New Zealand women's hockey team to compete at the Indira Gandhi tournament, in New Delhi in India, in October.

Coach Ian Rutledge has added Canterbury's Bridget Kight and North Harbour's Kate Mahon to squad, in what's his last chance to experiment with players ahead of next year's Commonwealth Games.

Also included is Diana Weavers, who missed last month's Champions Challenge tournament with a hip injury.

Rutledge is resting Lizzy Igasan and who was the player of the tournament at the Champions Challenge and fellow defender Jo Galletly.
