Graeme Egan (25) and Paul Edwards (38) were the Welsh goalscorers.

Ireland's women retained their title after also winning for the third time this weekend, beating Scotland 1-0 with Kristin Farrell's goal.

Good darts
Well done the Welsh boys - from the reports it sounds like you made a good show of yourselves and came up against a pretty useful French outfit.

Celtic Cup
Some good hockey over the three days. Scotland's men looked a lot better yesterday. If they had played a bit like that over the other two days then maybe the results would have been more positive. Still, a positive end note.

The women did OK as usual. Little dissappointing though, certainly, the defence looked a bit wide open, too many players have no pace at will be an easy target in Dublin. The midfield were good at times (Cheryl Valentine) but very, very predictable. Nobody really wanting to excite - very much - out wide, down the line etc etc.

The attack was poor. Although a convincing win against Wales on Saturday, it should have been 10 at least. All very well saying that they created chances but if not going to finish then again, very worried about Dublin.

Still, exciting young teams with a lot of potential. Good luck in respective Europeans!
