Paradise Hockey Club Women Championship team completed their League Championship schedule with an emphatic two nil victory against bottom of the table Checkers in Trinidad last Saturday.

The victory has placed them in third position on the standings, which they will maintain if Malvern loses their final game.

A victory for Malvern will see the third place being decided on goal differences as both team will have 13 points.

The victory also secured Paradise Big Four berth but the club met earlier in the week to make a decision on whether they will compete in the Big Four.

Head coach Annette Knot reported that at present some key members are out of the country which makes the team significantly weaker and they do not want to be overwhelm by the opposition after their impressive League Championship run. Paradise returned to the championship division this year and surprised the League with their impressive play, more so because of the youthful blend of the team.

Against Checkers, Nicollette Alleyne and Charlene Williams were the marks women for the winners.

The championship men team again finished in the cellar position and has dodged the relegation bullet for the second successive year because there will be no relegation because of the shortened season. All divisions only played one round of games.

The under 19 boys and girls have to settle for the bridesmaid position in their respective divisions to Paragon while the verdict is still out in the trinity division where Paradise have completed its schedule but await the out come of Paragon's out standings games.
