Scotland stormed to an impressive 9-1 victory over Poland in their final game of the A division of the U18 boys' European Nations Cup tournament yesterday, and lived to fight another campaign in the next event in 2007.
One player who will return for that occasion is Kelburne's newest prodigy, Kenny Bain, who is still just 15. His six goals in five games made him the tournament's top scorer.
Yesterday, Bain scored twice in the rout of Poland, first executing a perfect drag-flick at a penalty corner to chalk up the fifth goal. Then, after Poland had struck back, Bain stepped up again for a spectacular reverse-stick shot into the roof of the net for the sixth. Rae scored an earlier goal, and Donald Abbot, Ross Stott and Ian Scholefield also got in on the act as Scotland finished sixth in the championship.

from someone who played in Poland i think we were very unlucky against the english, couple of good chances to draw the match which would have sent us through with the Irish who we had lost to the day before, They were a good side who deserved a medal, unlucky not to get one...
