Australia 1 Argentina 3 (Half time 0-1)
Australia - Iain Davidson 51m PC; Argentina - Lucas Vila 30m FG/53m PC, Manuel Brunet 69m PC

The Burras lost their first match of the Rabo Junior World Cup on Wednesday, losing to a more determined Argentinean outfit 1-3.

The loss pushed the Burras to second on the Pool F table, with Argentina finishing on top without a loss.

Australia will now play India on Friday for a shot in Sunday's final. India finished on top of Pool E with a 1-0 win against England.

With their semi final spot sealed, and the resting of some injured players, the Burras were not the same running, skillful outfit they had been in their previous five World Cup matches with skill errors costing them dearly.

A defensive error by the Burras resulted in the first goal to Lucas Vila at the 30 minute mark of the first half. The Burras broke even in the second half when Iain Davidson found the back of the net from a penalty conversion. However, two minutes later Vila scored again from a penalty conversion, taking Argentina to a 2-1 lead. They scored again in the final minute of the game when Manuel Brunet dribbled one past David Reid for a two goal win.

Coach Mark Hager was disappointed with the Burras performance.

"We went into the game with a poor attitude due to already qualifying for the semi's," he said.

"We paid the price for being ten percent down in performance."

The Burras will be hoping to lift that performance for Friday's match against a tough Indian outfit that have finally hit their straps and are playing quality hockey.
