Argentina had to wait until extra time to confirm their place in the final of the 8th Junior Hockey World Cup while Australia came from behind to secure their berth Friday.
Pedro Ibrarra struck in the 76th minute to enable last year's silver medallist Argentina to edge Spain 2-1 in the semifinal after both teams were tied at 1-1 at regulation time.
Australia, meanwhile, overcame a 0-2 deficit in the first half to down India 3-2 in the other semifinal.
India were in control of the match for the first 35 minutes before Australia got their show going and slammed home three goals in the second half to end India's march.
Germany came from behind to edge South Korea 5-4 with a golden goal to qualify for the 5th to 6th placing playoff match.
Just like India, South Korea had the game in their palm, leading 3-1 into the second half but lost control of the match in the last 20 minutes.
Germany took advantage of South Korea's lapses and narrowed the gap to 2-3 but the Koreans scored again to make it 4-2.
The Germans put in one more through Tim Witthaus in the 55th minute to make it 3-4.
With seconds remaining to full time, the Germans pulled off a Houdini act to score the equaliser through Oliver Korn to send the match into extra time.
Skipper Sebastian Draguhn scored the golden goal in the 74th minute to give Germany a 5-4 win over the Koreans.
Germany will play the Netherlands for 5th-4th classification match on Sunday.
