Australia will play reigning champion India in the semi-finals of the men's Junior Hockey World Cup after being relegated to second spot in its pool by Argentina.
The Burras had already secured their place in the final four, but failed to keep alive a five-game unbeaten streak in the tournament when they were toppled 3-1 by Argentina in Rotterdam, Holland.
Iain Davidson scored Australia's lone goal, a 49th minute equaliser, before Argentina rammed home two penalty corners in the final 10 minutes.
Australia will now meet India early Saturday (AEST) for a place in the final of the world under-21 titles.
India beat Korea 3-1 in its final round-robin game to top its pool.
Argentina and Spain will meet in the other semi-final, with the final to be played late on Sunday night (AEST).
Australia has won the Junior World Cup once in its 26-year history - in 1997 - and finished sixth in 2001 in Hobart.
