HYDERABAD: Harendra Singh, chief coach of the Junior World Cup hockey squad, is concerned about the tournament rules which stipulate that the teams that qualify for the super league from the first phase will carry forward the points and also goal averages (for and against).
Singh has adopted a different and softer approach in training his boys. Singh said that there are no worries as far as talent is considered.
"I am not going to dwell on the opponents' strengths. Let us focus on their weaknesses and try to take advantage. For instance, Poland plays a very aggressive game leaving gaps in mid-field. We can exploit such aspects," he said. Singh acknowledges that teams like Australia and Korea have prepared hard.
"Australia has two Olympians and so does Spain. But Argentina and Spain could pose the biggest threat because of their style of play adapted from soccer."
The groupings:
Group A: England, Spain, Korea, Mexico. Group B: Argentina, Germany, Malaysia, South Africa. Group C: Australia, Belgium, Chile, Pakistan. Group D: Egypt, India, Netherlands, Poland.

Don't forget Germany, Holland & Pakistan
Every team is strong in this tournament, particularly the first eight. Any of these are champion material on their day. Harendra Singh must be careful with the sentences he speaks. We all want the team to do well and retain the title. Beating Holland in Holland will not be easy, and then in the second round robin, India will play against five different teams like Germany (four time JWC champions), Australia, Spain, Pakistan, South Korea, Argentina and England.
I am sure this year's JWC will be won by any one of these countries.
So advice to Harendra - PLEASE SPEAK AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE TO THE PRESS. KEEP ALL THAT TILL THE JWC IS OVER, OTHERWISE YOU MAY HAVE TO BITE THE DUST WITH YOUR COMMENTS.

JWC Mania
Best of luck to Harendra and boys.
Yes, Harendra should not forget the teams like pakistan and Germany. Pakistan has very experienced players from senior team one of them got Man of the tournament award at recently concluded Azlan shah tournament and as 4 times JWC champion it will be good and interesting to see Germany as defeted.
