Despite another torrential downpour in Napier, the Black Sticks have managed a 2-nil win over the USA in the third match of their hockey series.
New Zealand now has an unassailable 3-nil lead in the five game series.
First half goals from Jaimee Provan and Suzie Muirhead secured the win.
For the second consecutive night it poured with rain, and Black Sticks forward Niniwa Roberts-Lang says it certainly made life difficult.
However, raining or not they have wrapped up the series and Roberts-Lang is delighted with the effort.
She says they made a good start, with the Americans having little to offer in the second half.
The fourth test is in Levin on Thursday.
