Defending Farfan and Mendes division one hockey champions GCC battered Guyana Police Force's Hockey Team 14-0 when the two teams clashed in a fixture of the Farfan and Mendes tournament on Sunday at the GCC ground.

Leading GCC's assault was Guyana Hockey Board's president Phillip Fernandes who found the back of the net on five occasions. Phillip's older sibling Allan secured a double while the younger sibling Steven netted one goal. The other six goals came from Orland Semple (3), Devin Hooper (2) and Anthony Solomon (1).

Phillip assisted the Bourda team in securing a 4-0 half time lead with two short-corner goals while Anthony Solomon converted a third first half short corner and Steven Fernandes placed the ball between the uprights from the penalty spot. The ten goals which were scored in the second period, all came from the run of play.

Hooper firstly dribbled the central defender and Police's custodian before slotting home the ball. He (Hooper) subsequently made two neat passes to Phillip who found the nets on both occasions. Prior to Phillip's second goal in the session, he (Phillip) dribbled three defence players and made a pass to Semple who finished off the job.

Hooper's second goal resulted from a combination of passes around the circle with the final touch being made by Hooper who found his target. Semple's second goal was identical to Hooper's while his (Semple) third resulted from a counter pass he received from Allan Fernandes.

Allan Fernandes bagged goals number 10 and 11. His first was scored from close up while being unmarked when he received the ball and for the second, he dribbled the central defender and found the net. Phillip's final goal resulted from a one on one situation he faced with the opposing goal keeper.

Meanwhile, Old Fort defeated GCC 2-1 in a penalty shoot-out, in the final of the John Fernandes Insurance Services Limited sponsored-Second Division Tournament, after the two teams were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

Askofu Simon and Dwight Solomon scored for the winners during regulation time while Kevin Spencer netted one of GCC's goals. The other was a defence error.

John Abrams and Jason DeSantos scored for Old Fort in the penalty shoot-out while Ewan Lowe was the only GCC player to find the target.
