Hong Kong Football Club A will meet Shaheen in the Holland Cup Final on May 1, 2005 at King's Park. This will be the two teams' third meeting in less than a month's time.

Shaheen defeated Club B 8-3 in the other Holland Cup Semi-Final match earlier, after trailing the B's 3-1, 10 minutes into the 2nd half!

Valley pulling one back from a 3-0 down situation just before half time boosted the team spirit but it was not enough to improve the scores. Conceding a penalty stroke from a deliberate foul in the circle sealed the match to 4-1 and Valley's chance to a place in the final.

Shaheen vs Club A
Goals scorers accordingly
First Half
Arif (PK)
Arif (FG)
Arif (PK)
Club had one shot on goal from a (PK) drag flick but esaily stopped by Shaheeb Keeper Howard.

Second Half
Farooq (PK)
Senaji (FG)
Harry (FG)
Nawab (FG)
Alfonso (FG)
Swalikh (FG)
Senaji (FG)

Shaheen Keeper Howard made another save from a (PK) drag flick & 2 shots on target. Club missed 2 definate chances by missing the target.

Conclusion:
No doubt Shaheen desreved the win. Club could have put on a great show if they could score one early with a half chance in the first 5 mins of the first half.
Or, if Club could score 1 of the definate chance that they missed in the first 5 mins of the 2nd half. On the other hand, Shaheen's clinical finishing made the diffence. But scoring 80% of their chances.

There was one difference for yesterday's game though. Some of Club's players obviously did not try to pull one back and one of the imported player even walked out after 4 down. Shaheen started the 2nd half without midfield commander Alfonso then later substituted Senaji after 15 mins into 2nd half. Mustafa, Swalikh and Ishtiaq took charge of the first 15mins of the 2nd half by firmly blocking Club's attack and controlling the midfield. Asif was replaced by Alfonso after 15mins of the 2nd half.

Looking forward to see how Shaheen performs against a full time squad the beat them 4-0 last season.

I am sure you are not from KCC and please don't spoil the clubs friendship, don't act like a child and you think you can murder somthing. The game was so good to watch but even Shaheen lost, still most credit should go to Shaheen. If they can produce good hockey they why don't you! All you trying to do is th kill and step down someone. This is totally useless. As a hockey fans, I would love to see great hockey without any politics.
I know a few clubs will get together and do alot of development in the coming years as the HKHA has done nothing about this.
Thanks

Well Done
Thank you for Shaheen and Guangdong for producing such a good hockey game to watch today. Guangdong well plan/train for this game and Shaheen also did the same to stop their opponent attack and break their walls. Shaheen goalkeeper stopped a great shot which was not seen for many years. This young boy has a great future to comes and good to see Shaheen produce another great goalkeeper after Vincent Cheung.
Shaheen should have won (many wouldn't agree with me) but they might scored too much yesterday and forgotten how to put the ball into the net. Guangdong using the ball runs alot and play smart.
Well done both teams, hope hockey will improve and bring back the spectators back to hockey pitch.

Winner Guongdong
Valley A vs Football Club A
Valley 6 Football Club 5

2 sentences could describe this game.

Valley, congratulation whether Club fielded in their 1st team or not your commitment and respect to the game is so much appreciated and well deserve a 3rd place.
Football Club A, did not respect the game as we all witnessed the 6 missing players and of course the president of HKHA playing as a fullback could well describe what kind of sportsman for those who did not turn up

Guongdong vs Shaheen

Result Guongdong 2 Shaheen 1

Senaji missed a clear chance in the first 3 mins & Arif missed a first half 15min Penalty Stroke could mean that Shaheen was not in a good day. A mistake by Shaheen's Farooq gave Guongdong a rare chance to lead. Despite, penalty missed. Shaheen continued its aggressiveness by creating dozens of chances and short corners. Shaheen could not equalize because their finishing was not as clinical as yesterday. However, Shaheen defended 3 short corners beautifully and converted them into 2 great chances to score. Yet, the attackers today were a little sloppy.

Second half started well for Shaheen but the Umpires were a bit too harsh to give both teams 4 yellows 2 for each. Which did affect the flow of the game. However, Alfonso as usual demonstrated the effectiveness of how a quality player can switch a game into a different level by equalizing through a short corner rebound. Surprisingly, Guongdong did not even have a chance to get a short corner in the second half. Guongdong scored the last goal of the game with a deflection blasted in just outside of the D in the final 6th mins. Shaheen managed to get a last minute short corner. A 1-2 work out between Arif & Senaji, Arif flicked the ball that was stopped by the keeper. The rebound came to Arif but a miss hit ended Shaheen's chance of bring the game into extra time.

As I am not sure about the names of the Goungdong players, they performed brilliantly as a team no one deserves the best. Shaheen on the other hand played so well especially Keeper, Senaji, Salik, Alfonso and rarely mentioned Ishtaq.

Conclusion-

Over all, Shaheen deserve to draw. Maybe a lot would not agree but Shaheen should win. But then Goungdong players showed the crowd that hard work pays especailly if luck and the crowd is on their side. The superior Shaheen has proven they can be beaten if they are not in a good day. Macau did it this season and Valley did thrash Shaheen 4-1 last season.

It was a game full of excitment. I find it strange that most of the crowd at KP cheered Gongdong and discouraged Shaheen. Shaheen is the only team that really brings HK hockey to a level that is worthed the time to watch. Keep up the good work, for those who were in KP and enjoyed the game should at least have the courtesy to say thank you to a team that is really holding on to the passion of HK Hockey.

Thank you Shaheen

Guangdong , winner of all china games and Full time hockey players . But only can score
2-1 to win this game. You think they are really that happy ? And Guangdong coach was not
happy about the way they play and the score.
And most important is , Guangdong players are very happy to play shaheen in the final .
And Shaheen were invited by Guangdong team to play more friendly games in there home ground . This is really good for HK hockey.
So at last , Full time player 2 - 1 for part times players . Not bad shaheen ! keep it up ,
Coz u guys r only team in HK play so much good hockey . Not like some guys , who just seat outside, talks alot Buttttt can't play hockey .

Fish, don't get upset as teams on top always don't have strong supporters. Shaheen played a great game. Some might say Guangdong lost 5 players but keep in mind, these 11 players were the Guangdong team players who train from day and night. Elite and Aquila players were all Chinese so it's ok to support Guangdong. Also, fans only support those underdog... and this mean that Shaheen is a top team.
Shaheen keep it up and I am sure there are lot of quiet supporters and for those who voice out is only just a very little one.

Holland Cup Final
Does anyone know if Shaheen are playing in the Holland Cup final this weekend. I heard they played an illegal player (Harry from KCC - he had already played for KCC) in the semi finals so should be kicked out. I guess it would be typical of HKHA to turn a blind eye to this as it wasn't Club or us breaking the rules....

Obviously most of you that put up thrash comments on this wonderful site don't even have a cure of the players in the 70's & 80's, so don't participate. Thanks for the comments regrading my best 11 list. Obviously I know who is Yaya but like what u have mention in your article that he is from the 60's & I have never seen him play at least in his prime.Apart from that we are only talking about best players during the past 30 years not 40 yrs. Paul Har played as a left half during his last Asian Game in Seoul in 1986. Also would like to mention that all good players that was in the list are or should be able to play in most position. My idea is if Tony Singh is in the same team with Amo, I would rather have T. Singh played as a Center denfence and Amo played as aright half.

Officials of HKHA
Sad to know that the language on this site is still very negative. Vote for the ones you like. Although this may not be the best method but making comments here won't help. I'm a player who only plays therefore voting is left to my clubs' representatives.

Throwing critics to HK hockey just can't help. Whoever wants to see HK hockey improve should try to make suggestions and feedbacks istead of discouragements. All the best to the ones who really care about HK Hockey.

Leave the Dillon's alone all they have done is help Hong Kong Hockey. Plus don't see any one that can do a better job. Look at our Association Best dressed Roger Nissim doesnt know 2 things about hockey.

Jesus ask his father in heaven that why gurvin is being re-elected into the squad and his prayer is still not yet answered from the father in the heaven.

even the kingdom of heaven don't have a clue.
the only possible guess is that its just another witchcraft of BILLY DILLION
