The Spar SA women's hockey side lost their third Test 3-0 against Argentina on Saturday night in Buenos Aires.
Taking on the side ranked 10 places above them in the world standings, the South Africans managed to put in a confident performance and were unlucky not to score.
The hosts took a 1-0 lead in the first half and added two more goals to their haul after the break for their 3-0 victory.
"Last night was our best performance as a team," said SA coach Jenny King from Argentina yesterday. "I think we dominated the second half in terms of possession, but were just not able to penetrate their last line of defence."
"Their goalkeeper made two brilliant saves, one off a penalty corner and another off a reverse stick shot," added King, who admitted that the injured Kate Hector was sorely missed but confirmed that she would be back for the final Test.
"They are improving all the time, but we need to take advantage of the chances we are creating."
Argentina now lead the series 3-0 (having won the previous two Tests, 5-2 and 1-0) with one Test remaining.
