BDO International is to become presenting sponsor of the International Hockey Federation’s new television magazine, BDO WorldHockey Monthly.
The 26 minute programme will be distributed free-of-charge directly from FIH to a wide selection of global broadcasters every four weeks, starting in June this year. It will showcase hockey with a range of topics including highlights of major tournaments; the Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings, news from hockey competitions around the globe, and profiles of some of hockey's international stars.
Headquartered in Brussels, BDO International is a world wide network of public accounting firms, called BDO Member Firms, serving growth-oriented owner-managed businesses with expanding international requirements. At 30 September 2004, the organisation had representation in 105 countries world wide. BDO has been one of the FIH’s four Global Hockey Partners since the beginning of 2003 and this presenting sponsorship will run for an initial 12 month period, with first option to renew.
Paul van Elten, International Secretary of BDO International, commented, “We are delighted to announce this further strengthening of our support for WorldHockey. In the course of the last year, BDO International has been developing an incisive and powerful international brand strategy, and our involvement with WorldHockey is very much in keeping with this. As presenting sponsor of BDO WorldHockey Monthly, we will not only help to raise the profile of WorldHockey, but further the communication of our new brand to key audiences globally.”
Els van Breda, FIH President, commented, “This extension of BDO’s partnership with FIH demonstrates a true sense of cooperation between a sponsor and its sport, which will significantly increase hockey’s exposure on TV on a regular basis.”
