Belgium deserved to play the final
Belgium has played at a sustained good level during all the games of this tournament. Playing Argentina , the Belgian players had quite a difficult start but never gave up. On the contrary they kept the focus on their opponent and slowly came back into the game and to their best level of hockey. At the 25th minute, Zoulou Brulé succeeded in levelling with the Argentinians, the score was 1-1. But the good stick handling of the Argentinians allowed them to take a advance and made it 3-1. But this was without taking into consideration the fighting spirit and the will of the players of Giles Bonnet. The discipline and the speed of the team made it very difficult for the Argentinians to develop their other ambitions. The Belgians took the lead and nested themselves into the half of the opponents. Another pc of Brulé, his ninth goal of the tournament, allowed the team to come back to 2-3. Three minutes before the end, Loïc Vandeweghe, even constructed the equalizer. One minute before the end of the game, Charles Vandeweghe deflected the ball just over the goal. With a little bit more luck, the Belgian team could have played the final of the Champions Challenge. This game, against one of the top teams, confirms that Belgium deserves distinctively its place in the top 10 of the world and that they are now able to beat any team.

The team : Leroy, Houssein, Renaer, Brulé, L. Vandeweghe, Vandenbalck, Luycx, Petre, Ch. Vandeweghe, Ph. Goldberg, Truyens ; puis Reckinger, Stumpe, J. Goldberg, Dohmen et De Cock.
