Hong Kong Football Club defeated Macau 3-1 yesterday, and secured a place in the South China Premier League Playoff's (Grand Finals), together with Shaheen. With two consecutive defeats, Macau will now need to beat Asahi Valley to keep their chance for a place in the Playoff Grand Final series.

Macau are furious after already having thought they had qualified for the play-offs, only to have HKHA apparently change the League format, in a 16 February 2005 memo, to thus introduce a "third round".
Hong Kong National team player, Chris Marshall opened the scoring with a nicely worked field goal, but HKFC's early lead was short-lived when Marcos Rosario equalized for Macau. Two 2nd half penalty corner goals from former EHL (English Premier Hockey League) player, Pietro Attala, helped Club settle with a 3-1 score line.

Earlier, Club dominated the midfield with Kline Switzerland and Holland U21 player Marius Ankum controlling the central lane, with Kiwi, Brad Munt giving HKFC a much stronger look, from the back. Macau's Alex Chan, as always, created problems for Club's defence at times.

HKFC will now face Shaheen in the Hong Kong league title match this Friday at 8pm, HKFC, while Macau get their last shot with a play-off with a very strong Asahi Valley side on Sunday.

The next few weeks are packed with some exciting hockey fixtures as follows:

April 8 - HKFC vs Shaheen 8:00pm at HKFC to decide HK Champions

April 10 - Macau vs. Valley 4:30pm at King's Park, play-off for 4th spot for South China play-off berth

April 17 - HKFC B vs. Shaheen 2:30pm at HKFC (Holland Cup Semi)

April 17 - HKFC A vs. Valley 4:30pm at HKFC (Holland Cup Semi)

April 23-24 South China Premier League Playoff Grand Finals at King's Park (semis Saturday, Grand final &3rd place Sunday)

May 1 - Holland Cup (HK local knock-out) Finals Day at King's Park

Premier Champion
Shaheen beat HKFC 4-1 and were the Premier League Champion. But wasn't a good game to watch as they made too much mistake by themself. Alfonso played outstanding but Shaheen some credit should goes to their young goalkeeper who saved at least 3 sure goals, 2 from penalty corner and one from field.

The Rundown
The Final of the Play-off between Football Club & Shaheen is not entertaining-----

Reason & Fact

R: Not a Sunday Game F: Football Club Supporters can save their Sundays

R: Home Ground for Club F: Shaheen had to play under pressure

R: Umpire was Late for 30 mins F: Shaheen didn't know so Roger Nissim a Club member can work with Stapley so that a 13 vs 11 situation might have a chance for club

R: The game was played 4 minutes extra in the first half F: Club might pull on back after 2 down

R: Alfonso the only yellow F: Shaheen's only physical player

R: The game ended on time in the 2nd half F: so that Nawab could not take a shot to make it 5-1

R: Both teams talked a lot F: Umpires tried to fix the game

Good luck to HK Hockey... I wonder what will happen when Shaheen players leave the league. A very dull league...

Yes it wasn't a good game to watch in the Final. The Real & Fact seems true or may be not. We all know the game should be play on Sunday, reason why not? Simple, because HKFC don't want to play on that day. Why? Business Trip or Players Away. Imagine that Sunday (last) 14.30hrs Valley play Macau for Playoff position...16.30hrs Shaheen play HKFC for Premier League Championship, what do you think about the impact? Who use the ground on that day 14.30pm... A 1st Division game where 2 bottom team play and never affect the league. Why can't they (HKHA) swop this 2 games and create a strong hockey supporters at KP. I don't think they were that STUXID or perhaps its also a fix to avoid something.
I hope Shaheen could bring the Playoff Champion back to Hong Kong and tell them that non-professional hockey players, who work shift, not much training, no support from Govt.. can be better than them. If Shaheen beat Guangdong in the Playoff, I will suggest that HKHA should reward them and also at least a coke for the supporters who turn up at KP. Not just only think how to dig money from the club/teams.
Hope in the future HKHA could have someone run them professionally not aiya aiya...ya ya fu fu

Grow up Shaheen Showman! Shaheen won so let it go. Yes it maybe wasent the best Idea to play the match on a friday night but the reason why it was done was because it was the only time that the two teams could play. As if club lost to macau then this match would decide who who were goin to play valley.

Also regarding your comment on the umpire, the reason y we started late casue the appointed umpire didnt show up. And they got Roger cause everyone thought it would be the fairest being the association president (hey he has to be fair, all the clubs seemed to have voted him in and con out.)

so please next time please learn the facts before you write this crap.

Thanks and God Bless!

Mr. Shocked you really shocked... I didn't complain the umpire and i only complain about the time. I don't think they (both HKFC & Shaheen) every agreed to play on Friday, unless you got some hidden news.
Football Club's Showman is the one who complain Roger and I agree with you on some point that he was the only one seems to be the choice.
Anyway thanks for your blessing and I hope Jusus, Buddah, Guru, Allah, Mother Teresa, Pope Paul II also bless you.

If a team is strong, then they can beat every team anywhere. I should say HKFC contribute the ground as the ground was really tight after Coach came back and the season need to complete, otherwise we will end up playing league game in June. There was lot of postponement, watering system out of order in HV etc. It's not easy for HKHA to fix game easy. We are short of hockey ground (pure for hockey).
As for the umpire, one of the assigned umpire didn't turn up for the game so Roger, who suppose to watch the game, help as umpire. He already did his best for the game and also fair game.I will suggest that umpire section should take action aginst assigned umpire should be fine as clubs got fine then why not umpire. I know they were voulanteer but that dosen't mean they have no commitment.

I agree
I totally agree with "OK" at the part that the umpire should be fined, unless in case of emergency. Teams wish to perform good but because of umpires, hockey in hk is not improving in the way it should be. Umpires use their cards as weapons on the pitch where not nescesary. Some umpire to earn extra money and usually use that money to drink beer. Some like Ernest love to show off even when he is a 3rd class umpire. This guy really thinks he is king of hk. bloody j*rk.
