confused
ok this is kinda confusing, are there any more competitors other than those 4? because im pretty sure its hard to have a WORLD cup when only three teams are invited, and at that they arent the best in the world, Australia, England most of europe would all have higher quality under 21 sides than those countries.
If it is only those 4 teams then why did all the qualifiers cum from the pan american tournament, thats jsut plain biased, can sum1 please fill me in.

qualified teams
For those of you who have shown in the above posts that your knowledge is limited, let me enlighten you. This is not a senior cup as someone stated above. Its juniors..hence the name junior world cup. In each region the top 2 or 3 teams make it to the final tournament which is to be held in Chile. In the Pan American region which boasts countries from South,Central and North America as well as the caribbean, the top 3 teams go to the final. Since Chile is the host nation they automatically get a spot...hence 4 teams from the Pan American region making it to the finals...get it ..got it....good.

4 teams from the Americas
The Senior World Cups (M&W) are down to 12 teams, but the Junior World Cups (M&W) are still at 16 teams, with the number of teams per continent based on the strength of the continent but also on the number of teams entered in the Continental Qualifier.
The Americas have 4 teams because one spot is reserved for the host, Chile. Else they have 3 teams coming form their Qualifier (competed between 12 teams), which is in line with what Asia has.
Africa has only 2 teams (few teams in their Qualifier) and I assume that the Oceania sole spot was only contested by Australia and New Zealand.
Europe has of course the lion's share with 6 teams.
For information, at the 2001 Junior World Cup (W):
- Europe: 7 teams (although Ukraine didn't show up...)
- Americas: 4 teams
- Asia and Oceania: 2 teams each
- Africa: 1 team

Yen, may be you learn something
Yen, you are a ignorant, may be a little of history open your brain.
Continent: 1997/2001/2005 Host between()
Europa: 5 7 6
America: 3 4(3+1) 4(3+1)
Asia: 2(1+1) 2 3
Oceania: 1 2 1
Africa: 1 1 2
In '93: Argentina
In '97: Ned/Aus/Arg
In '01: Kor/Arg/Ned
May be you need review your math, don't have data from first world cup, but my numbers says too many places for a little win, just look a podium.
You are a discriminatory, first learn good modals after write again, without bitterness.
Sorry but english not is my language, I'm from Argentina, and just need look results in World champions, not need arogance.
